During peak hours (13-14) be prepared to wait around 30m - 45m before you get a table.I agreed with all the people, they curry fish head soup is the best in Indonesia. It taste more like a tendon rather than fish meat.Oh by the way, it's best to get the rice packed. It's more tasty to eat it that way.

The fish head is out of the world. Really fresh fish is used. Definitely a must to have. Honest opinion great food.

The food is so good

I didn't visit many restaurant in Medan. But I'm sure this is one of the tastiest. Minang taste is very strong and authentic, with good quality of ingredients. The rice comes with fresh boiled cassava leaves, gulai nangka (jackfruit curry), and tasty spicy potato chips. Various side dish from meat to fish is good, so do vegetable menu. You must try gulai kepala ikan (snapper head curry) here, make you want to dig and dig for the rice. A bit busy in the lunch and dinner hour, and it is a bit hard to find parking lot. Not a fancy place, but the foods make it up.

It is light and thin yet very tasty. The fish head curry is from red snapper. It is still fresh, its flesh is firm and sweet. The cow feet is very very tender (yes it is two very). The fried chicken has turmeric hint. It is small kampung free range so its meat is lean and firm.Overall very recommended

the food is very delicious. My favourite food here: Gulai kepala ikan and kari kambing. The reason I rate Pondok Gurih with 5 stars is because the food is so tasty and well mantain.

Delicious food compare to others minang cuisine restaurant, but The price bit higher from it's standard. Better take away using grab or gojek, the place to crowd for eat.

Visited this restaurant during lunch time and it was so crowded. The front of the store was full of people including a lot of Grabfood driver who are waiting for the food. They need to wait for 1 hour to get the food. For dine in customer, just inform the cashier and they will instruct the waiter to call your name once there is empty seat. It took us about 15 minutes to get a table. The service was fast. We ordered Fish Head Curry and packed Rice (rice packed together with vegetable and mixed curry sauce). The waiter will also place other foods on your table and you just pay what you eat. Fish Head Curry is really tasty. It’s the best Fish Head Curry I ever taste. If you are Fish Head Curry’s lover, this restaurant is a must visit restaurant in Medan

Its just okay for me... the food is normal.. not too outstanding.. but yes its tasty.. but its all crumble because of the place.. so crowded yet they dont have a good place to eat... i suggest you to take away rather than eat in this place

Oh my God! All food are soooo tasty! Love the chicken, kepla ikan, chips, daun pepaya tumbuk! Plus, Badak their local drink makes everything perfect! It’s a must visit place while in medan

Chinese-operated padang/malay restaurant with excellent taste. A must try dish is its signature fish head curry. The only drawback is that you have to endure a long queue only to get seated, especially during lunch hours. My suggestion is if you are very hungry and want to be served quickly, dont go there....

Total price is considered OK, here was what i ordered :Rp 36.000, 2 mixed rice / nasi bungkus.Rp 175.000, medium size 1 fish head soup (for 2 pax)Rp 9.000, 1 additional plain rice.Rp 1.000, 1 iced mineral water.Rp 3.000, 1 iced plain tea.No AC at this place, cards and local digital payment are accepted. Services were nice, they were very fast.
